Family tour

Our Family Landrover Tour is the perfect experience in the Mournes for up to 5 adults and children. Let us take you on an adventure up Pigeon Mountain, where you will hear about the history of Spelga Dam and the Mournes. Stop at the top for a picnic of local food (provided by us) and get photos from some truly unique vantage points to keep, share & treasure. You’ll be aboard one of the only vehicles allowed up this private trail. An experience not to be missed!

Brewery tour

Are you ready for adventure? Jump in and head offroad up the craggy, wet roads of Pigeon Mountain. Take pictures, have the craic and then journey across to the Whitewater Brewery, who have been crafting amazing beers in Castlewellan since 1996. Take a brewery tour, then sample the produce. Don’t worry, we will bring you back to base after so you can enjoy hassle-free! Up to 5 people can fit in, so belt up and get ready to enjoy the Mournes in the best way possible.

What you can expect

Both our family and brewery experiences last roughly 2.5 hours. You will be taken offroad and up Pigeon Mountain by Edward, our experienced local driver, who will pick you up and drop you off at either Spelga Lodge, Spelga Dam car park or the Slieve Donard hotel. Expect to learn about the history of the Mourne Mountains and have a unique experience as you see the Mournes from a totally unique perspective.

We LOVED it

Went for a 2 hour landrover defender tour experience on Saturday, for my husband’s 50th. Was an amazing morning from start to finish. Edward the tour guide was very friendly and informative about the Mourne Mountains. He kept us entertained throughout the experience and it made our day so much more enjoyable, as we trusted him completely on the offroad section! The scenery up the mountain track was jawdropping.

Bumpy fun my kids adored

Having never done an offroad adventure before, I didn’t know what to expect, but my husband and 3 kids jumped in and off we went. I’d never been to Pigeon mountain and the terrain is certainly made for vehicles like this. It was so much fun going over all the rocks and feeling the Land Rover handle it. My kids all loved it and Edward was such a good host. Great local food at the top was just the icing on the cake!
